IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO ENTER AIR FORCE ACADEMY GROUNDS

Base Access:
All visitors MUST review the information below and complete the USAF base Visitor Pre-Registration​ form 

Who needs to complete the base access link:

  • Non-DoD ID holders who are 18 years of age or older  (athletes, officials, coaches, parents, family members, friends, etc.)
    • Anyone over the age of 18 needs to complete the link not just the driver of the vehicle.

Who does NOT need to complete the base access form:

  • DoD ID holders
  • Anyone under the age of 18 

For anyone who is not a US Citizen or does not have a REAL ID, they will need to visit the PRO (pass and registration office) at the south gate entrance to receive a paper pass.

ELIGIBILITY

Individuals:
USATF Membership
This meet is open to 2026 USATF Colorado member athletes who fall within the age divisions listed above.  Memberships can be obtained online here

Citizenship 
Only U.S. citizens, aliens living in the United States and foreign exchange students are eligible to compete in these Championships.  See the USATF Rules for more information and exceptions. 

Age Division
A competitor must compete in his/her age division only.  Age divisions are determined by year of birth (see above) and NOT age on event day. There will be no "moving up" in any events, including relays.

Date of Birth Verification 
Each athlete's date or birth must be verified and included as part of their USATF CONNECT profile before the athlete's entry can be submitted. If the athlete's date of birth has been verified in the past and their membership was renewed, then they will be able to submit their entry. Proof of Birth (copy of birth certificate, passport, certified baptismal record, driver’s license or U.S. government identification) needs to be uploaded to the athlete's USATF CONNECT profile.  See USATF Competition Rules, Rule 300.1 (i) for further information.

Relay Teams: Only registered 2026 USATF member clubs may enter a relay team(s).  All athletes representing the club must be affiliated with and members of that club as part of their USATF membership. 

Notes about club membership -

  • For a club to be active, it must renew its club membership for 2026. 
  • All coaches linked to the team’s profile must have a) a current USATF membership, b) a current USATF background check, and c) completed the US Center SafeSport training and be current with all refresher classes.

  • For running events, girls will compete first.  Any exceptions will be listed on the official schedule.
  • Track events will be from oldest to youngest.
  • Field events will be youngest to oldest. Refer to the schedule
  • Vertical Jump athletes reporting late - After competition starts – allowed to enter the competition but must enter at current position/height (detailed info below) See Rule 180.10.a
   PACKET PICKUP

Coaches and unattached athletes will be able to pick up their competition packets as noted below.  Meet Management will not be held accountable for individuals missing an event due to a late packet pick-up or any other reason.

COACHES MEETINGS 

Check in at the main gate. Coaches will receive a wristband and MUST be USATF 3-Step Safe Sport Compliant.

IMPLEMENTS

  • All implements must be inspected on the day of the event when they are used.  Implements will be inspected at the venues. Implements must be inspected at least 1 hour before the start of the event.
  • Personal implements in the throwing events are allowed.
  • Athletes competing in the hammer will be allowed to bring and check-in up to two implements for their competition.
  • Implement weigh-in will be behind (East) the east grandstands.
  • Implement check in is behind the east stadium from 7:30 am to 8:30 am.


ATHLETE CHECK-IN / REPORT TIMES

Running Events

  • Athletes will check-in at the shed located at the bottom of the stairs heading to the stadium.  There is no access to the field from any other area
  • Athletes may check in with the Clerk of the Course after first call has been announced, but no later than 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of their event.
  • Athletes must report back to the Clerk’s tent no later than 10 minutes before the scheduled start time to receive hip numbers, instructions and to be escorted to the start line.
  • Athletes must bring their racing shoes at the time of check-in. A random spike check will be conducted.  Approved shoes will receive a colored Zip Tie indicating the shoe has been checked and approved.
  • Combined Event athletes may check in at the start line line no later than 30 minutes before the first event.
  • The staging area (blue tent) will be located on the Southwest corner of the Stadium next to the shed
  • Athletes will be escorted by age/gender to the start line by a Clerk.

Field Events

  • Athletes will check-in at the field event when their age group/gender is called by the announcer.
  • Bibs and spikes will be checked at the event venue.
  • Horizontal and throw athletes must be checked-in for preliminary attempts before all preliminary attempts are completed for their age group/gender. Rule 180.10 and 302.5(q)
    • Athletes checking in after warm-up will not receive any time to warm-up.
    • Failure to report before the preliminary attempts are completed will result in forfeiture of all remaining attempts.
  • Horizontal and throw athletes must check-in for final attempts (if they are in the top 8 marks plus ties for the 8 place) at the venue and after the preliminary attempts are completed.  Rule 180.10 and 302.5 (q)
    • Failure to report before the final attempts are completed will result in forfeiture of all remaining attempts.
  • Pole Vault and High Jump athletes should check-in 45 min before the competition begins. A late check-in will not receive any warmup time and will enter the competition at the current height.
  • Vertical Jump athletes reporting late - After competition starts – allowed to enter the competition but must enter at current position/height See Rule 180.10.a

PROTESTS

  • A protest relating to matters that develop during the conduct of the competition must be made to the Event Head, Field, or Running Referee at once and no later than 30 minutes after the result is posted (online or announced).
  • This time period will be strictly enforced.
  • A $50 Cash submission fee is required to file a protest. The fee is paid to the appropriate Referee. This fee will be refunded only if the protest is upheld.
  • Only violations of the 2026 USATF Rules of Competition may be protested.
  • Judgment calls made by the meet officials cannot be protested.
  • No video or photos taken by coaches, spectators, or photographers will be considered as evidence.

AWARDS

  • A Gold, Silver, or Bronze medal will be awarded to the top 3 athletes in every event (age group/gender)
  • After the completion of the event, awards will be available at the awards table located in the southwest corner of the Stadium near the shed (near the front entrance).
  • Awards must be picked up by the end of the meet on Sunday.


ADVANCEMENT - TO REGION 10 CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Region 10 Championships will be held July 9-12 in El Paso, TX.  The top four (4) finishers in all events, except combined events, at the Colorado championships will qualify for the Region 10 championships. The combined events shall advance the top two (2) finishers plus any other athletes that meet the published 2026 qualifying standards listed below.


The 2026 USATF National Junior Olympics will be held in Norwalk, CA (July 27-August 2).
