Tuttle and Blauwet Win National Titles at USATF 50 km Trail Championships in California
Results
Colorado athletes turned in outstanding performances on Saturday, August 16, at the
USATF 50 km Trail Championships
, hosted by the Tamalpa Headlands 50K in Marin County, California.
Leading the way was
Tayler Tuttle
(Longmont), who claimed the women’s national title, covering the rugged course in 4 hours, 3 minutes, 5 seconds. Tuttle’s victory adds to her growing reputation as one of the nation’s top ultra-distance trail runners.
Also delivering a strong showing for Colorado was
Sarah Biehl
(Boulder), who finished sixth overall in the women’s division in 4:22:08.
On the men’s side,
Spencer Ferguson-Dryden
(Boulder) secured a spot on the podium with a third place finish in 3:32:29 against a highly competitive field.
In the masters competition, Colorado was represented by husband-and-wife duo
Darunee Pisutadamongkol
and
Dudley Blauwet
of Louisville. Pisutadamongkol placed 29th overall in the women’s race and 3rd in the masters 65–69 division, finishing in 7:58:46. Blauwet earned top honors in the men’s 70–74 division, crossing the line in 7:18:08. Their achievements highlighted the depth and inspiration of Colorado’s masters trail running community.
The event brought together 87 of the nation’s top ultra-distance athletes, and Colorado competitors once again proved their strength on the national stage.
