Results USATF Colorado was proudly represented at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan (Sept. 14–21), as several current and past members delivered standout performances against the world’s best.
The highlight came from Sage Hurta-Klecker, who advanced through the rounds of the women’s 800m and capped her championship with a personal best of 1:55.89 in the final. The performance earned her 5th place overall and moved her to #3 on the U.S. all-time list, further cementing her status as one of the nation’s rising middle-distance stars.
In the women’s 5000m, Josette Andrews placed 6th, running 15:00.25 against a deep international field. Teammate Elise Cranny showed her trademark grit, finishing 12th in the 10,000m (31:40.07) and returning to place 18th in the 5000m (15:00.23).
Jonah Koech advanced through both the heats (3:37.11) and semifinals (3:36.89) of the men’s 1500m before finishing 13th in the final with a time of 3:37.00. In the 3000m steeplechase final, Daniel Michalski put himself in the mix early and even took control of the race from 2100m to 2600m before finishing 9th overall in 8:37.12.
Two former USATF Colorado members added to the medal tally for Team USA. Anna Hall won the heptathlon with 6,888 points, while Valarie Allman claimed gold in the discus throw, launching 69.48m.
