IN THEIR WORDS - Charle Lawrence

Mission accomplished! Breaking the American/World Record at 50 miles is a goal that I've had for a couple of years now and it's a little surreal at the moment. I was able to execute the plan that I wanted to from pacing, nutrition, and being able to commit to really working on the long uphill section after halfway! Steve Durbin, the race director, and his team at Durbin Race Management truly help make this possible through re-certifying the course and reiterating that I had a great shot at this record, so a huge thank you to Steve and his team.
