Five Coloradans compete in World U18 Mountain Running Championships in Italy
On Sunday (26-Jun) five (5) Coloradans competed in the
World U18 Mountain Running Championships
in Saluzzo, Italy. The race was conducted over a 4.4 km course that included 155 meters of ascent and descent. Team USA was comprised four girls and four boys.
In the boys
Porter Middaugh
of Avon and
Benjamin Anderson
of Highlands Ranch finished fourth and seventh, respectively.
William Wachter
of Highland Ranch finished 39th. Team USA finished 4th in the team competition behind Italy.
In the girls race
Rosie Mucharsky-O’Boyle
of Denver, CO placed 18th and
Milaina Almonte
of Edwards, CO finished 20th. The race was won by
Alyssa Sauro
of Williamstown, WV. The girls team placed fourth in the team standings.
Andrew Simmons
of Lakewood, CO and
Nancy Hobbs
of Colorado Springs, CO served as team staff.
