USATF Colorado will not host a Colorado Junior Olympic Championships this year.

Athletes who would like to compete in the USATF Region 10 Junior Olympic Championships (November 16; Mesa, AZ) should click here to submit your initial Junior Olympic program entry (note: this is not the entry to the Region 10 championships but your initial entry into the Junior Olympic program).  The initial entry fee is $0. On or after November 9th your intitial entry will be marked as qualified for advancement to the Region 10 Championship and at that time you will be able to enter the Region 10 Championships.

If you are looking for a meet to participate in on November 9 we suggest that you consider the Kokopelli Invite in Colorado Springs.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS 


INDIVIDUALS

USATF Membership
This meet is open to current USATF Colorado member athletes who fall within the age divisions listed above.  Memberships can be obtained online here

Citizenship 
Only U.S. citizens, aliens living in the United States and foreign exchange students are eligible to compete in these Championships.  See the USATF Rules for more information and exceptions. 

Age Division
A competitor must compete in his/her age division only.  Age divisions are determined by year of birth (see above) and NOT age on event day. There will be no "moving up".  

Date of Birth Verification 
Each athlete's date or birth must be verified and included as part of their USATF member profile before the athlete's entry can be submitted. If the athlete's date of birth has been verified in the past and their membership was renewed, then they will be able to submit their entry. Proof of Birth (copy of birth certificate, passport, certified baptismal record, driver’s license or U.S. government identification) needs to be uploaded to the athlete's USATF CONNECT profile.  See USATF Competition Rules, Rule 300.1 (i) for further information.

TEAMS
  • Only registered USATF Colorado member clubs may enter a team.  
  • All athletes representing the club must be affiliated with that club as part of their USATF membership.  
  • To enter a team, a club must complete the team entry/declaration process during online registrations.  
  • Only athletes listed on the team declaration roster will be eligible to represent the club at the Association, Regional or National championships.

TEAM SCORING

8 athletes on the team entry/declaration form may be declared as scoring athletes.  The top 5 finishers among the declared runners will score.

COMPETITION BIB NUMBERS

All competitors must wear their assigned bib numbers during competition, chest-high on the front of their jerseys.  Bib numbers will be distributed at registration. All races will be chip timed. You must have your assigned race number to compete.

AWARDS

The top 10 in each age division* will receive medals.  Awards will be handed to the athletes as they walk through the finish line.

REGION 10 CHAMPIONSHIPS QUALIFYING

All athletets and teams that participate in the USATF Colorado championships will advance to the USATF Region 10 Junior Olympic Championship (November 16; Mesa, AZ).

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS QUALIFYING

The top 30 individuals and top 5 teams from the Region 10 championships will advance to the National Championships (December 9; Louisville, KY)
