Held as part of the USATF Running Circuit, the championships also served as the Team USA selection event for the 2026 World Road Running Championships, which will be contested September 19-20 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

In the men’s championship race, Hunter claimed the national title in 13:28, edging Jacobs, who matched Hunter's winning time while finishing second. Both athletes earned Team USA berths for Copenhagen with their top-two finishes.

Colorado athletes were visible throughout the men’s field, with Acer Iverson (Union Athletic Club) placing 14th in 13:43 and Anthony Rotich finishing 16th in 13:45. Dylan Schubert (Union Athletic Club) added an 18th-place performance in 13:53.
