66 Coloradans Set to Compete at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Marathon in Florida

The
2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Marathon
will be held this Saturday (3-Feb) in Orlando, Florida.
Sixty-six (66) members of USATF Colorado (38 men and 28 women) are entered in the event that will begin at 8:10 AM MT. The event will be broadcast on Peacock TV beginning at 8 AM MT. A total of 215 men and 165 women are entered.

In the men's race,
Elkanah Kibet
, 40, (Colorado Springs) and
Leonard Korir
, 37, (Colorado Springs) are the leading Colorado entries based on their qualifying times of 2:09:07 and 2:09:31, respectively.
Jacob Riley
, 35, of Boulder, who represented Team USA at the 2020 Olympics and
Paul Chelimo
, 33, of Colorado Springs, a two time Olympic medalist in the 5000m are on many expert's watch lists. Riley, is returning to form after nearly three years of injuries while Chelimo will be making his marathon debut in Orlando.

Three-time Olympian
Jennifer Simpson
, 37, of Boulder will make her marathon debut on Saturday as she qualified via her 1:10:35 half marathon run at last year's Houston Half Marathon. Simpson won the bronze medal in the 1500m at the 2016 Olympic Games and the gold medal at the 2011 world championships.
