Rainsberger wins silver at NACAC Championships
Results
Three Coloradans represented Team USA at the recent North American, Central American, Caribbean Area (NACAC) Championships. The championships were contested August 19-21 in The Bahamas.
Katie Rainsberger,
of Colorado Springs, won a silver medal as she finished second in the 3000m Steeplechase as Team USA swept the top three places. Rainsberger stopped the clock at 9:40.74. The race was won by Gabrielle Jennings (South Carolina) in 9:34.36. Carmen Graves (New Jersey) finished third running 9:44.68. This was Rainsberger's first time representing Team USA in a senior competition. She had previously competed for Team USA in U20 and U23 international events on three occasions.
Anthony Rotich
(3000m Steeplechase) and
Emmanuel Bor
(5000m), both of Colorado Springs, each finished fourth in their events.
Chris Turner
(Denver) and
Kathy Butler
(Nederland) each served as staff members for Team USA. Turner served as the Head Manager and Butler was the Assistant Coach (Distance).
