Colorado Athletes Win Seven Individual and Eight Team Titles at Region 10 Junior Olympic Championships

162 athletes and 19 teams from USATF Colorado qualified to participate in the national championships next month

Results 

On Saturday (19-Nov) 594 Athletes and 43 teams participated in the 2022 USATF Region 10 Junior Olympic Championships at Bohn Park in Lyons. The event was managed by the Boulder Mountain Warriors. The day was sunny but cold with temperatures in the low 30s for most of the day. Approximately 6 inches of snow fell on Thursday which left the course snow packed and slippery.  Athletes from the Border, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico associations competed in the event with the top 30 individuals and top 5 teams in each division earning qualifying spots for the national championships to be held December 10 in College Station, TX.

162 athletes and 19 teams from USATF Colorado qualified to participate in the national championships next month.  The list of qualifiers can be found here.

Colorado athletes claimed seven individual titles and eight team titles.

Individual titles were won by Greyson Romero (8U Boys), Carly Truini (8U Girls), Robert Stepanov (9-10 Boys), Quinn Walter (11-12 Boys), Oliver Horton (13-14 Boys), Chamorra Cooper (13-14 Girls), and Alexander Gilbert (15-18 Boys).

Team titles were won by Kokopelli Kids (9-10 Boys), Boulder Mountain Warriors (9-10 Girls - pictured above), Kokopelli Kids (11-12 Boys), Kokopelli Kids (11-12 Girls), Kokopelli Kids (13-14 Boys), Kokopelli Kids (13-14 Girls), Bruins Fitness Club (15-18 Boys), and Bruins Fitness Club (15-18 Girls).
