Peisner is golden (times three) at National Youth Championships in North Carolina


3-Jul) Last week three members of USATF Colorado competed at the USATF National Youth Championships in Durham, North Carolina.  All three earned trips to the awards podium for their top-8 placings winning a total of eight medals.
Winning the sprint triple in the girls 15-16 division was Camille Peisner (Parker, CO / Valor TXC).  Peisner a rising junior at Valor Christian High School won the 100m in 12.42 to defeat Kara Stewart of Georgia by .03 seconds.  In the 200m she stopped the clock at 24.44 beating Chloe Kearney of North Carolina by .67 seconds and then in the 400m she ran 55.59 to outrun Alison Richter of Utah by over 1 second.
The brother-sister tandem of Owen and Sarah Sams of Parker had a busy week in North Carolina.  Combined the "Throwing Sams" competed in seven events and reached the awards podium five times.  Competing in the 11-12 boys division Owen finished second in the Discus Throw (20.92m / 68-08), fourth in the Shot Put (8.89m / 29-02) and fifth in the Javelin Throw (24.51m / 80-05).  Older sister, Sarah finished third in the 17-18 girls Javelin (30.28m / 99-04), seventh in the Shot Put (10.38m / 34-00¾).  She also finished ninth in the Discuss Throw and 11th in the Hammer Throw.
