When word came mid-week that Josh Cox, the American 50K record-holder, was coming to race the Rock 'n' Roll Denver Marathon, Arvada's Chris Siemers got fired up. Racing in a red Mile High Track Club singlet, Siemers sped through half in 1:06:58, caused Cox to DNF, won the race by over 10 minutes, and most importantly, ran 2:18:49 to qualify for the Olympic trials. To say the least, it was a very impressive day for Siemers. Other top results are listed below.

- Chris Siemers (Arvada) – 2:18:49
- Andrew Smith (Denver) – 2:29:30
- Jonathan Ndambuki – 2:29:51
- Jeff Drouet – 2:41:16
- Tristan Mitchell – 2:42:21
- Mark Mulholland – 2:46:27
- Chris Aronson – 2:46:47
- Mark Larson – 2:47:51
– Doug Wilson – 2:48:34
– Paul Steinweg – 2:48:52
